Somebody loves elephants

Anne’s birthday was last week. She collects elephants in various forms. It’s a pretty impressive group. And it just so happens we have a mutual friend who specializes in elephants…and other squishy things.

Our friend Jordan makes handmade critters that are available on Etsy. Jordan, Anne and I met a long time ago (well not that long ago, but it seems like a lifetime away) at Anthropologie. We don’t hang out nearly enough but the Internets keep us together, which is how I learned about Jordan’s latest entrepreneurial achievement. Fattycakes Handmade just recently became available at the fabulous Youngblood Gallery and Boutique. Go Jo!

I stopped in to take a look-see and they are oh-so-fabulous. You may want to stop in and take a look (and a squeeze) for yourself. You might make someone very happy, even if they don’t have a room wall full of elephants. Love ya, Anne!

I promise I’ll stop talking about this

I know, I know, I’m milking the cow dry. My excitement isn’t just about having written this profile on the super awesome Lesley. It’s not even that I get to work with Maria and the folks at CommonCreativ Atlanta.

It’s more like, sometimes you forget when working on narrative pieces and character development, writing can really honor people. I just like knowing that I’ve contributed to something cool, that stands on its own. And that somebody cared. ‘Specially my mom. :-D

I’m mean, let’s face it, deep down (reaaallly deep), I’m still seven years old on the inside.
